Jack's Quilt

A Christmas gift for my nephew, Jack.  Lots of triangles!  112 actually.  I worked on this one in the fall and right up to December 23rd.  Finished and wrapped in time.  The binding is some of the same fabric that I used in Magnolia's quilt.

Maeve's Quilt

A Christmas gift for my niece, Maeve.  A pretty patchwork of patterns! I worked on this one over the summer and a little bit into the fall.  I used some of the same fabric from her cow sheets, and the binding is the same fabric that went into parts of Magnolia's quilt.

baby blocks

I made some decorations for Mary's baby shower!

I had planned a craft activity that involved drawing with fabric markers on little squares of fabric.  Since her baby decided to make his debut THAT MORNING, the baby shower didn't really happen!  Plenty of family and friends still stopped by so we got some fabric decorated.

Here is what those fabric squares, along with some of my other project extras, turned into:

I made a little prototype with other scrap fabric.  Maeve gets the tester block!

David requested one for our Magpie, so I tried a different shape:

Each soft little block is about 5" by 5" by 5" and has a rattle inside.  I also added some fun ribbon tags. Maggie likes to grab them by the tag and shake shake shake! The blocks are potentially good for baby golf & croquet.  Maeve and Maggie got to practice a little bit over Thanksgiving.  Maybe Jack will be ready to play at Christmas!

quick & cozy

A quick & fun sewing project! I found this impossible-to-resist robot fabric on super sale.  Since Jack has some robot-themed art in his room, I made him a little blanket.  Robots on one side, dark teal on the other.  Cozy flannel, with a little neon tag.

more & more sewing

I made more sheets for Mags!  This time, I splurged on some fancier & softer fabric.  Dots of different colors, shapes, and sizes are fun for baby to look at.  Plus, the colors go well with her quilt.  More sheets are in the works!  The next couple of projects will be for other babes.

I have several new quilt plans in the works!  I printed some graph paper and had a lot of fun coloring some design ideas.  Then David got me THIS notebook with graph paper inside.  Mmmmm quilt ideas.

so many ideas!

Flossin'

Look at this tiny little weaving!  It is on a TOOTHPICK!!  Inspired by THESE and THIS.  I made a "loom" out of a piece of cardboard.  I used embroidery floss because I still have a ton of it, plus a little piece of ribbon and a little piece of twine.  Isn't it the cutest?

The loom.  MacGyver would be proud

Speaking of embroidery floss… I used some of my stockpile to jazz up some pillowcases:
